CFA History


Here's the oldest history about the creation of the CFA. In 1862, In memory of her son Alfred, died at 27 years old, Mrs Pauline Tonnellé created the apprentices' house. She passed her house on to Tours City and after six years of works, the apprentices' house opened in september 1868 and welcomed its first twelve apprentices. It's in 1973 that the building became the CFA. In 1987, the CFA added in its programme the Wine-Waiter training , in 1989 it was the Barthender training and in 1997 the Receptionist training. In 2009, the CFA registered in the European programmes. It proposes a lot of trainings in the Automobile sector (Painting , Coachwork),in Business (Shop assistant ) and Hotel Catering ( Cook, Waiter, etc...) The wine cellar of Vouvray La cave des producteurs



With the Irish group, M. Seidl and an English guide, in October 2016 we visited ‘’La cave des Producteurs’’ of Vouvray, it’s a Wine cellar. Before the visit, we went through the shop at the reception with bottles of wine, comics (les fondus des vins de Loire), jam, paté… After, we started by a mini museum and a video on the vineyard and we smelt different aromas. The visit in the wine cellar began, the main wines here are sparkling wines and still wines. We watched a video about the wine making from grape to marketing (harvest, bottling process, labelling, …) And to finish, we tasted the different wines. ...

GASTRONOMY OF TOURS



The Gastronomic party between September 23rd and 25th assembles those different events : Autumnal of gastronomy and taste (all the year long , there is a topic which is « Saint Martin de Tours » : the Gallic cooking,  sharing cooking). The cooks prepare original and revisited menus from Touraine. « Everybody at the restaurant ! » Between September 19th and October 2nd. The rule  is one bought menu = one offered menu in some restaurants like : « Château de Pray » in Chargé, « Le Clos de Jeanne » in Genillé, « Le Château de Marçay » in  Marçay, « L’Auberge de la Treille » in St Martin le beau, « Charles Barrier », « Le cahier de cuisine » and « Le Bistrot Rossigny » in Tours. « Festival de la tomate et des saveurs » September 10th and 11th. European Programmes



Mobilité Courte Work experience in an English speaking country for 3 weeks. Available for apprentices in the 2nd year in A level in Business (Malta) or Catering and Hotel (Ireland).   Euro métiers centre Bac + Work experience in an English speaking country (Malta) or Spanish speaking country (Spain) for 3 weeks. Available for apprentices in the 2nd year in BTS in Catering and Hotel.   Erasmus + post apprenti jeune diplômé Work experience for 23 weeks in Ireland or Spain (+10 weeks of English or Spanish lessons). Available for all major apprentices out of contract and financed by a European grant. (Cf: More information about it in the article about Erasmus programmes)   Trans'Europe centre Stay of one week in a European country. Available for all the trainings of the CFA (Cf: See the various trainings of the CFA).
